This pineapple lily (Eucomis montana) has a long raceme covered in big cream coloured star-shaped flowers with a dark purple heart. Eucomis gets the name pineapple lily because of its shape and colour and is an exotic member of the hyacinth family. The pineapple look is complete with a crown of green foliage. It is a real eye-catcher in your garden or in a pot on your terrace or balcony. Eucomis is not very hardy so it is recommended to plant this pineapple lily in spring in a pot or in the garden in a sunny spot. Please take them inside during winter time.
