When can I aspect my order?
The flower bulb is a natural and seasonal product, which is why it is not possible to send the flower bulbs all year round. We send the spring flowering bulbs in the second half of September and we send the summer flowering bulbs in mid-February. Because of this you will receive the bulbs on time at home before the planting period. After you have placed the order, we will let you know as soon as possible as when you will receive the bulbs.
We send the summer flowering bulbs and perennials in the middle of February. Because of this, you can choose forcing your tubers and bulbs in the pots.
All flower bulbs can be ordered earlier (pre-order), this gives you a wide choice!
Why will the spring flower bulbs be delivered in September?
The growing period of spring flower bulbs ends in June. After June the flower bulbs will be harvested and treated by the best producers. They dry the flower bulbs and also sort them by size and suitability, so that only the best flower bulbs are found in your garden. If this process is completed, the flower bulbs will be delivered to us and processed. It is a very long process and lasts approximately until September. Then we process your order and send it.
I only partially received my order, why is this?
If you order summer bloomers and amaryllis bulbs (or other products) together in the preorder period, you may not receive the products at the same time. You pay the shipping costs just once (if applicable). The summer flower bulbs will be sent later in this case: from the second half of February, depending on weather conditions. The amaryllis bulbs and other products are directly available.

When is the best time to plant my flower bulbs?
The most important rule is that you plant the spring-flowering bulbs in the fall, before long-term night frost occurs. Plant the summer-flowering bulbs when night frost will not occur anymore (after Ice Saints, approximately from mid-May).
How do I plant flower bulbs?
Make sure the pointed side faces up and the flat side (the roots) faces down. This way of planting ensures that the flower bulbs emerge evenly. If you sprinkle the bulbs in the ground, they will also bloom, but they may appear more unevenly.
What is the planting distance and the planting depth of flower bulbs?
The easiest rule that generally applies is:
•Planting distance: Keep 2 x the bulb width / bulb size;
•Planting depth: Plant twice as deep as the bulb size / bulb.

When can I plant summer bloomers?
We recommend you to plant the summer flowering bulbs as soon as there is no longer any risk of frost: after Ice Saints, from about mid-May. The average soil temperature should be around 13 ° C. If you plant the summer bulbs earlier, there is a chance that the bulbs will rot because they do not grow actively. Of course you can choose to plant the summer bloomers in pots earlier and to pull them (forcing) under the right conditions.
The summer flowering bulbs should be planted after Ice saints, what does that mean?
Ice saints is one of the oldest and best known concepts in the people’s meteorology. The first reports of Ice Saints date back to the year 1000. Saints St. Mamertus, St. Pankratius, St. Servatius and St. Boniface celebrated their name days on the successive May 11, 12, 13 and 14. Temperature changes can do a lot of damage to your bulbs and tubers. After mid-May the chance of night frost decreases. In that perspective, the Ice Saints usually mark the transition to a period with more summer weather. It is therefore not recommended to move your summer flowering bulbs outside before then. Once the plants have been subjected to the frost, it is probably too late to save them.
How can I force the summer flowering bulbs in a pot?
From late February, many summer flowering bulbs, such as tuberous begonias, can already be planted in pots indoors. These bulbs start to grow at a light place and at a temperature of up to approximately 18 degrees Celsius. From mid-May, the pots can go outside, or the plants can be placed in open ground. By forcing summer flowering bulbs, you will be able to plant whole plants outside immediately, instead of the otherwise bare bulbs or tubers.
I have received summer-flowering bulbs and perennials, but it is too early to plant (February / March / early April). How can I best store the bulbs?
It is important to take these products out of the box upon receipt. These living products need oxygen. Store the bulbs and tubers in a shed or garage, in a dark and cool place. You can also force the summer flowering bulbs in a pot. You can plant the summer bulbs and tubers from May onwards (after Ice Saints in mid-May). We advise you to plant before the longest day (June 21). Perennials are often hardy and can be planted earlier.
Can flower bulbs also be planted in pots?
Many flower bulbs are excellent for planting in pots. Be especially careful that the pot can drain well (for example, through a hole in the bottom). However, the pots must be protected from frost. You can, for example, put straw or bubble wrap around the pot or put the pots inside the shed to put them outside again after the frost period. In our range you will find many varieties that are suitable for planting in pots.
Do the flower bulbs still need special soil or fertilization?
Flower bulbs actually grow and bloom on any soil, as long as the soil drains. Fertilizing is certainly not necessary in the first year, because a flower bulb carries all the growth supplies. For flower bulbs that you plant for naturalizing, you have to fertilize after flowering. For a more detailed description, read our planting instructions.
Do I have to water the flower bulbs after planting?
If you plant the bulbs in slightly moist soil, you do not need to water. You can water to press the soil a bit, but you can also do this by hand.
Can I leave the bulbs in the ground and will they come up again next year?
Many bulbous plants are suitable for naturalizing, but not all. We have made a selection for you with the best and most beautiful varieties that are very suitable for naturalizing. For a detailed explanation and working method, see our planting instructions.
Can I save the flower bulbs and plant them at a later time?
We will send you flower bulbs at the most suitable time to plant. In order to preserve the premium quality, it is therefore best that you plan them as soon as possible after receipt. If this is not possible, you can temporarily store the flower bulbs in a dry and cool place, for example in your garage or basement. Check regularly that there is no mold growing on the bulbs due to a too high humidity level. If this is the case, it is best to dry the flower bulbs for a while and then plant them immediately. Never leave the bulbs in a closed box.
How can I protect flower bulbs from deer and rodents?
Deer and rodents are known to be unable to withstand some bulbous plants. However, there are still enough bulbous plants that they cannot appreciate the taste.
I live in a warm climate. Do I have to give my flower bulbs a cold period before planting them?
Flower bulbs need a cold period to bloom. In most areas, this happens naturally underground during the winter, but you can also store the bulbs in the refrigerator or other cool place. You should keep the bulbs there for 6 to 8 weeks, in order to give them their cold period artificially. After that, you can plant the bulbs and it will go exactly like in areas with a colder winter.
It has snowed and the bulbs have already grown. Is this possible and do these flower bulbs still bloom?
This is certainly not a problem. The snow insulates against the frost and will therefore protect your flower bulbs perfectly. The bulbs will not only have no frost damage, but will also bloom earlier than bulbs that have been kept snow-free.
Can perennials go into the ground when it is still freezing?
Perennials are often hardy and can be planted if there is still a chance of (night) frost.
