Botanical spring crocuses (Crocus chrysanthus, crocus tommasinianus, crocus species) are the ‘wild’ crocus varieties. You can easily leave them grow in the ground to naturalise and multiply. Queen Flowerbulbs offers a beautiful mixture of the small-flowered (10 cm tall) spring crocuses. These botanical spring crocuses come in the most stunning colours: lavender-blue, cream, blue, white, with brown marks, with purple marks and overall in more pastel colours than the crocus vernus varieties.

Botanical spring crocuses bloom in early spring (February-March) and they appear slightly earlier than the large-flowered crocuses. Quite often it is still cold outside when these flower buds pop up. That makes them the true announcers of the spring!

Other information

  • First loosen the soil well where the flower bulbs will be planted. Then the soil is easier to work with.
  • Dig a hole and make sure it is 2 to 3 times as deep as the height of the crocus bulbs.
  • For the distance between the bulbs, make sure it is 2 times the diameter of the bulbs.
  • Plant the flower bulbs in the hole with the pointed side facing up or with the root base facing down.
  • Cover the crocus bulbs with soil and water them well.

Pre-orders can be placed until the first week of August, which will be shipped in the first half of September and delivered in October.
