Planting Eremurus
Plant the Eremurus in the months of October, November or December, before the frost sets in. Despite the large thick roots, the Eremurus does not need to be planted very deep, often 4 tot 6 inch deep is enough. It is important that you plant her in a sunny spot. Protect the Eremurus from December to spring against frost with a layer of straw or leaves of 2 inch. This way you prevent the roots from freezing. Eremurus does not naturalise, so you have to dig up the bulb each year and keep it cool and dry to plant again in October/November/December.
