Narcissus Brackenhurst is an early March bloomer – what a warm welcome! It grows striking bright yellow petals with a red-orange cup-shaped corona. Narcissus with large “trumpets” are called Large Crown Daffodils and the crown can grow as big as 1/3rd of the flower. This variety has a very wide range of shapes and colours and are considered “sun proof”.
You can find this type of narcissus in the parks and gardens everywhere because the bulbs can quickly multiply and do not require special care. Daffodils are also deer and rabbit resistant.
Greek mythology says that there were handsome young men and beautiful young women, who were obsessed with admiring their own beauty that their personalities turned out to be very self-centered and narcissistic. As a result, the gods transformed them into the beautiful narcissus flowers.
